If you’re new to private healthcare, we make accessing our services easy for you and your family.
Before booking your appointment, you’ll need to have an appointment with a GP and ask them for a referral letter - this can be from an NHS GP, an HCA UK GP or another private GP.
You can ask for either an open referral, or a named referral if you already have a specific HCA UK consultant in mind - you can use our consultant finder to search for an expert.

You can access some elective treatments without a referral. If you get in touch with our enquiries team, we'll talk you through how you can access our treatments and services.
We work with most insurers, so please contact your insurance company to check whether we can provide treatment under your policy. It helps to have your policy number and authorisation code ready when you get in touch. You can also visit our Consultant Finder to search for specialists and filter the results by insurer. If you want to pay for your treatment, please contact our self-pay team on 020 3733 0947. They can talk you through the procedure and the costs involved. Additional tests, treatment and consultant fees are not included in the cost of the procedure. Our team will explain everything clearly before you go ahead.

Yes you can. We offer urgent care with no appointment needed at dedicated walk-in centres across London - all open 365 days a year. You’ll find adult urgent care centres in St John’s Wood, Chelsea, London Bridge and Marylebone, and a specialist paediatric centre at The Portland Hospital, and 94% of patients are seen within 15 minutes. For non-urgent care, we can usually offer you an appointment within a few days of getting in touch. Some appointments can be in as little as 24 hours, subject to availability.
