HEALTH SCREENING AT HCA UK

Why choose health screening?
Health screenings give you expert-led, personalised recommendations that put you in control of your health.

At HCA UK, our reAssure health screenings are led by experienced GPs, and tailored to your health, your life and your budget.

You’ll have access to state-of-the-art technology that goes far beyond a basic check-up, including heart health, cancer risk and genetic testing. Plus, with flexible appointments throughout the UK and access to HCA UK’s extended private hospital network should you need it, you’ll be in safe hands at every step.
Our health is our most important asset, and one we need to look after. Health screening is a way of understanding more about your health and spotting any potential concerns early – often before symptoms appear.

It involves a set of tests and checks to look for any early signs of illness and identify potential health risks. The results can give you practical steps to stay well and manage any ongoing concerns. At HCA UK, our screenings are carried out by experienced clinicians and can be fully personalised to meet your specific needs.

From start to finish, your screening is focused on you. Our plans offer a minimum of 45 minutes, dedicated time with a GP, who’ll carry out a full physical examination and run a number of tests depending on the screening you’re having and your medical history.

After your appointment, you’ll receive a personalised report, giving you a clear overview of your health and, if we need to follow up on any of the results, HCA UK’s extensive private hospital network means we can quickly refer you to a trusted specialist. Typically, our patients can expect the following:

Thorough health screening: From blood tests to advanced imaging, we’ll give you a complete health overview.

Expert consultations: Our experienced doctors will guide you through your results, providing clear explanations and personalised advice.

State-of-the-art facilities: You’ll have access to the latest medical technology and diagnostic equipment, ensuring accurate and reliable results.

Lifestyle recommendations: You’ll get practical advice on lifestyle changes to help you maintain or improve your health.

Continuity of care: Should you need further treatment, you’ll have seamless referrals to our private specialists and hospitals.

Yes, we do. Each of our reAssure health screening packages is designed to give you flexibility and control. Whether you're looking for a basic check or a more in-depth assessment, each package includes a full physical examination alongside a tailored selection of tests. To find the right level of screening for your needs, take a look at the reAssure packages in the section below.

          Health screening FAQs

If you’re a My HCA GP full member, we’ll send you an invitation a little in advance of the due date of your health screen. This is to help you book it as close to the due date as possible. Many patients like to plan medical appointments in advance, so our approach is designed to help you arrange a time that’s convenient.
If you’re booking a one-off health screening, you can do it in one of three ways:

You’ll need to answer four screening questionnaires ahead of your appointment.

These shouldn’t take longer than 30 minutes to complete and it’s crucial that you complete them. They help your doctor to effectively assess your health during the appointment, which will mean you can make the most of the time with the doctor. These questionnaires will be available on the My HCA portal and include:

          • A general health profile questionnaire
          • A diet questionnaire
          • A sleep questionnaire
          • An emotional wellbeing

It’s important for your doctor to have a full understanding of your past medical history and your family history so they can assess your risk from any hereditary diseases. In order to help them, please provide detail wherever possible.

You’ll be able to see your full, personalised health screening report 10-14 working days from your appointment. You can access this within the My HCA  portal or app.
Convenience is key. That’s why we give our patients the flexibility to choose a location that’s closest to them. You’ll be able to choose any of the HCA UK medical centres listed above for your health screen.

Your privacy and peace of mind are hugely important to us. Our systems and processes comply with all relevant data protection laws and your personal data will be handled with the utmost sensitivity.

You can see the HCA UK privacy policy here.

If you need to cancel or reschedule, it’s no problem. You can do this free of charge up to 48 hours before your appointment*.

You can cancel appointments through our My HCA portal or app, or contact the HCA UK bookings team on 0345 437 0691.

Please note that declining through the calendar invite does not cancel your appointment.

*Cancellations with 24-48 hours’ notice will incur a charge of 50% of the appointment fee. Cancellations with less than 24 hours, notice will be charged the full appointment fee.

An extremely pleasant experience with the clinician and the doctor. They took the time to understand my issues and concerns and gave me simple, practical advice.
