GP and Urgent Care Services at HCA UK

Primary Care at HCA Healthcare UK is more than just a GP appointment. It’s joined-up healthcare built around your needs. From same- or next-day GP visits – online or in person – to walk-in urgent care and annual health screenings, we’re not just here to treat you when you're unwell, we’re here to help you stay healthy. With subscription packages available, you’ll have seamless access to expert care and a fast track into HCA UK’s extensive network of private hospitals should you need it.

Our private GP services are open to all. You don’t need private health insurance or a referral – you just need to book an appointment at a time that suits you. We welcome patients of all ages, whether you're looking for a one-off consultation, or ongoing support for a chronic condition.

If you can’t get a same-day appointment with your doctor, need out-of-hours care, or if you’re visiting the UK and have a health concern that won’t wait, our network of Urgent Care Centres can help. There’s no appointment necessary, you can just walk in – and 94% of those who do are triaged within 15 minutes*.

We offer a range of reAssure health screening packages designed to give you flexibility and control.

So whether you're looking for a basic check or a more in-depth assessment, we can tailor your screening with a selection of tests that suit your needs. To find the right screening for you, take a look at our range of reAssure packages.

How you pay is up to you. If you’d like to pay for our GP-led services and urgent care as you use them, you can. GP appointments start from £90, while urgent care consultations begin at £120. Similarly, you can book your annual reAssure health screening from just £349.

If you’re looking for ongoing care as well as savings on urgent care appointments and health screening, you could sign up for one of our GP membership packages, which start from as little as £23.99 per month.

These packages are designed to offer significant savings, including unlimited GP appointments, unlimited access to our Urgent Care Centres and a yearly health screen. You can find out more here.

GP and Urgent Care FAQs

Primary healthcare is your first point of contact for everyday health needs. This includes GP appointments, urgent care, and health screening.

Secondary healthcare refers to specialist care, often following a referral. Seeing a consultant, having a scan, or receiving hospital treatment fall under secondary care. As we provide both, at HCA UK you’ll receive seamless joined-up care at every stage.

You can access primary care services at HCA UK locations across London and the UK, including our GP practices, urgent care centres, and outpatient clinics. You can see a list of locations here.

Pay-as-you-go GP appointments start from just £90. Urgent care consultations begin at £120, and our annual reAssure health screenings start at £349. We also offer subscription packages that offer savings, unlimited appointments and free annual health screenings.

Yes. Depending on the subscription you take out, you’ll either have savings on Urgent Care Centre appointments or unlimited access.

No. Having a subscription to our private primary care services won’t affect your relationship with your NHS GP. You can continue to see your NHS doctor whenever you choose. Our service simply gives you additional flexibility, access and choice.

No, they’re not the same. Urgent Care Centres are designed to treat minor injuries and illnesses that require immediate attention but aren’t life-threatening. These include sprains, broken bones, minor head injuries, minor cuts and burns, ear or throat infections, and urinary tract infections.

For life-threatening conditions like heart attacks or strokes, you should contact 999 or go to the nearest emergency department immediately.

We treat a wide range of conditions at our Urgent Care Centres, including, but not limited to:

  • Bladder and kidney problems
  • Broken bones
  • Chest infections and respiratory problems
  • Flu symptoms
  • Minor burns and wounds
  • Persistent headaches
  • Sports injuries
  • Stomach problems
  • Urinary infections
  • Women’s health conditions

For adults, we offer a walk-in service, with no appointment necessary.

Appointments are required for the Children's Urgent Care Centre at The Portland Hospital. You can book an appointment by calling us on 020 3910 2412.

We offer same- and next-day appointments – subject to availability – either in-person or online. Choose a time and location that works best for you, and we’ll do everything we can to fit in around you.
