The Harborne Hospital’s Urgent Care Centre gives you expert medical care without needing an appointment. Whether you’re feeling unwell, have a minor injury, or simply need to be seen quickly, our experienced doctors are here to help in a calm, relaxed and professional environment. For added peace of mind, our urgent care consultations are available at a fixed fee of £120.

You’ll be asked to pay for your initial consultation at the time of your visit, and we’ll provide a receipt should you need to claim the cost back through your private medical or travel insurance.
If your treatment requires a referral to a consultant, we’ll talk you through any additional costs before moving forward. If you’re using private health insurance, it’s a good idea to check with your provider to confirm your level of cover.

You can walk in without a booking. We also offer same-day appointments if you’d prefer to schedule your visit in advance.
We aim to triage patients within 15 minutes* of arrival. You’ll be seen in order of your arrival unless someone presents with a more urgent clinical need.
Yes, we provide expert assessment and treatment for a wide range of sports-related injuries, including sprains, strains, and fractures. Our on-site X-ray service helps us quickly diagnose the issue and if specialist input is needed, we can refer you directly to our orthopaedic or sports medicine consultants for ongoing care.
Yes, our team can treat minor wounds, cuts, abrasions and superficial burns. If you need, we can provide stitches and ensure proper wound care to support healing while reducing the risk of infection.
No, you don’t need to be registered with a GP to use our urgent care service. Adults over 18 are welcome to attend without referral. If you choose to provide your GP’s details, we can send them a summary of your visit for continuity of care.
Yes, you’re welcome to bring a friend or family member for support. Please note that during busy periods, we may need to limit the number of visitors to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for all our patients.
Most patients (96.2%) are treated on their first visit*. If you need ongoing care, we have a network of on-call consultants across multiple specialties. If you do need additional tests or treatment, we’ll explain all costs to you in advance so you can speak to your insurance provider to get pre-authorisation. Self-pay options are also available.
We have pharmacy departments at all our main hospitals and outpatient clinics. Prescriptions can be filled out onsite or at your local pharmacy if that’s easier.
