Whether you choose midwife-led or consultant-led care, you’ll be supported by experienced professionals every step of the way. Our expert team are here with advice and reassurance should you have any additional risk factors or concerns, and will help you decide on the right plan for you.

Delivery
Whether you’re hoping for a natural delivery, or planning a caesarean birth, our team will work with you to support your choices. With your dedicated midwife or consultant obstetrician leading your delivery, and advanced facilities on hand, you’ll be in safe, skilled and compassionate hands throughout.

Postnatal and neonatal care
Your care doesn’t stop after delivery. You’ll have dedicated support for feeding, recovery and emotional wellbeing, plus specialist neonatal teams should your baby need extra care. Whether you stay a few hours or a few days, we’ll make sure you both get the best possible start.

Accessing private healthcare
We provide full maternity care from early pregnancy scans and antenatal appointments to labour, delivery and postnatal care. You can choose midwife-led or consultant-led care, and we also offer specialist neonatal care and breastfeeding support.
Our maternity units are fully equipped to manage both straightforward and complex births. If any complications arise, our on-site consultants, anaesthetists, and neonatal teams are available 24/7 to provide advanced, immediate care for you and your baby.
We also have a six-bed neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at The Portland Hospital, with a team of consultants, neonatologists and neonatal nurses ready to care for your newborn with unparalleled experience and expertise.
Yes. We offer a full range of pain relief options during labour, including gas and air, epidurals, and other medications. Your midwife or consultant will discuss these with you so you can make an informed choice.
Absolutely. We welcome partners during labour and encourage them to stay and support you after birth. Our private rooms are designed with space and comfort in mind, and include facilities for partners to stay overnight where possible.
After delivery, you’ll receive care to support physical recovery, emotional wellbeing and infant feeding. Our midwives and lactation consultants are on hand to help, and we also offer follow-up appointments and newborn health checks.
You can book private maternity care by contacting our maternity team directly or asking your GP for a referral. We’ll guide you through the options, help you choose a consultant if needed, and discuss package costs upfront.
