Our specialties and treatments

London Bridge Hospital provides the most comprehensive range of specialities of any hospital in the private sector in the UK. Our breadth and depth of expertise is extensive enabling us to care for patients with rare conditions and highly complex cases (in adults aged over 18). Our specialties are led and delivered by over 700 consultants, professors, and clinical directors.
We build teams of experienced, specialised healthcare professionals around them – including clinical nurse specialists – so our patients receive the highest quality of specialised care, safely every day and night of the week. We support them with the latest technology, intensive care units and, of course beautiful facilities.

Delivered by specialists

Each medical specialty is delivered by experienced specialists, not generalists – whether consultants, nurses, radiologists, pathologists or physiotherapists they will all be highly skilled in their specialty. The depth of our services and treatments sets London Bridge Hospital apart. We are, for example, a leading centre for cardiology, cancer, gastroenterology, haematology, urology and orthopaedics, including spinal surgery; just the first few of a comprehensive list of medical departments.

Consultant chairing an MDT meeting

Practising complex medicine requires multidisciplinary teams

To practise complex medicine all those involved in each patient’s care meet regularly as part of a multidisciplinary team (MDT). Similar to the NHS each major specialty holds a regular MDT where complex cases can be discussed and treatment pathways agreed and planned.

This means decisions about treatment are based on consensus and insight from the best medical minds in the country. This ensures outstanding medicine is governed and practised in our hospital, leading to better health outcomes for patients.
