Practising at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, King's College Hospital and the London Bridge Hospital, Professor Stephen Till is a top Consultant Allergist, specialising predominantly in adult allergy. Professor Till is also a Senior Lecturer at King’s College London. His key areas of expertise include food allergies, allergic rhinitis and immunotherapy/desensitisation for allergic disease.
After graduating with a medical degree from University College London, Professor Till went on to complete a scholarship at the University of Oxford, as well as a PhD in Allergy at Imperial College London. Mr Till then undertook five years of extensive specialist training in allergy medicine at the Royal Brompton and Harefield NHS Foundation Trust. To this day, he is listed as one of the very few Allergist consultants on the General Medical Council (GMC) specialist register.
On top of his clinical practice, Professor Till devotes his time to research, teaching and supervising PhD students. His academic research, funded by the National Institute of Health research and the Medical Research Council, is largely focused in the fields of food allergy, immunology and immunotherapy and has been published in a variety of peer-reviewed journals. Recognising his outstanding contribution to academic research in the field of Allergy, Professor Till was honoured with the World Allergy Organisation Henning Lowenstein Award in 2009. He was also the 2004 winner of the Ernest Foulkes Prize for Medical Research and won the ‘Joint working between Allied Health Professionals and Healthcare Scientists’ category, at the 2009 UK awards for Allied Health Professionals and Healthcare Scientists.
