This group works in partnership with London Bridge Hospital, one of the capital’s most highly respected private hospitals. A comprehensive range of treatments across all orthopaedic specialties and subspecialties is available.
This team of outstanding orthopaedic Consultant Surgeons work as part of a multidisciplinary team including Consultant Radiologists, radiographers and physiotherapists.

Leading orthopaedic consultants
London Bridge Hospital hosts a group of 12 consultants, internationally renowned for their expertise in their subspecialised orthopaedic fields. They provide surgical and non-surgical care to adult patients across the whole spectrum of orthopaedic needs, including: acute injuries such as broken bones and torn ligaments; more severe injuries which require complex reconstruction; and long term conditions such as arthritis and nerve compression. All consultants are subspecialists in their fields so within the London Bridge Orthopaedics team patients can expect the highest level of expertise and the latest surgical techniques.
Access to the latest surgical techniques
London Bridge Orthopaedics’ leading surgeons, with their access to state-of-the-art technology, provide a wide range of minimally invasive procedures that can result in less: pain, blood loss and scarring, reducing trauma to muscles and accelerating recovery times. Diabetic foot reconstruction
The medical world has made huge advances in the reconstruction of diabetic feet – thanks in large part to the work of Professor Venu Kavarthapu. Prof Kavarthapu leads a multidisciplinary team at London Bridge Hospital. Using the latest techniques to reconstruct diabetic feet the team can restore independent movement and prevent amputation for patients.

Diagnostics: from routine to complex
Patients can usually have the full complement of diagnostic tests and imaging after their initial consultation, in the same location, on the same day – in London Bridge Hospital’s outpatients centre, HCA UK at The Shard. For complex cases experienced Consultant Radiologists, specialising in each musculoskeletal area of the body, will back up or challenge opinion.
London Bridge Orthopaedic consultants use the latest imaging and scanning techniques to ensure patients receive quick and accurate diagnosis. The results of investigations are usually reported on the same day. If surgery is required, this takes place at the main London Bridge Hospital site on Tooley Street, a few minutes’ walk from HCA UK at The Shard, right next to one of the capital’s main transport hubs. This ensures easy access from the South East to leaders in their fields of orthopaedic surgery.

Specialist radiologists provide expert opinion

Although I’ve spent 16 years specialising in knees, it’s important for me to have a great consultant radiologist. In a complex knee practice like ours, their opinion can back up – or challenge – what we think is going on.
