Professor Ameet Patel is a Consultant HPB/Liver Surgeon, appointed as Consultant Surgeon at King's College Hospital in 1999, developing one of London’s leading Bariatric Centres in the last 10 years, continuing to push the boundaries of day case surgery and Single Incisional Laparoscopic Surgery (SILS) as a new technique of minimal access surgery.
Professor Patel qualified from St George's Hospital, London in 1985, training in Surgery in the UK (London, Norwich and Cambridge) with a Fellowship in Minimal Access, HPB, Upper GI and Bariatric Surgery in Australia and a Research Fellowship in Pancreatic Surgery at University College, Los Angeles, USA with Professor Howard Reber.
Professor Patel has also been invited to perform live surgical demonstrations and present at National and International conferences.
