Mr Laurence James is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon. In August 2022, he was appointed as the inaugural Clinical Lead for Orthopaedics across Southeast London, covering Guy’s & St Thomas’, King’s College, and Lewisham & Greenwich Hospitals. He is also an Honorary Lecturer in lower limb biomechanics at the Institute of Orthopaedics, University College London, and has more than 12 years’ experience serving as team doctor to Saracens RFC.
He qualified in medicine from University College London and completed his postgraduate orthopaedic training at University College Hospital, London, and Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge. He subsequently undertook specialist fellowship training in Foot and Ankle Surgery at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, London, and at Southmead Hospital, Bristol.
Mr James has contributed to peer-reviewed orthopaedic literature, presented his work at international scientific meetings, and authored book chapters in established orthopaedic textbooks.
