Mr Laurence James is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon. In August 2022, he was appointed as the first Clinical Lead for Orthopaedics across Southeast London, overseeing services at Guy’s & St Thomas’, King’s College, and Lewisham & Greenwich Hospitals. He also serves as an Honorary Lecturer in lower limb biomechanics at the Institute of Orthopaedics, University College London, and has over 12 years of experience as team doctor for Saracens RFC.
He graduated in medicine from University College London and completed his postgraduate orthopaedic training at University College Hospital in London and Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge. He then pursued specialist fellowship training in Foot and Ankle Surgery at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in London and Southmead Hospital in Bristol.
Mr James has contributed extensively to the orthopaedic field through publications in peer-reviewed journals, presentations at international scientific conferences, and authorship of chapters in well-established orthopaedic textbooks.
