Mr Khalid Ghufoor is a Consultant Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeon with over two decades of experience in the treatment and management of sleep apnoea, voice disorders, salivary gland conditions, head and neck cancer and also, minimal access cancer ear nose and throat surgery. He sees private patients at the BMI London Independent Hospital as well as a number of other locations such as Harley Street and London Bridge Hospital: The Shard; enabling him to offer his expertise to patients in a location convenient for them.
Mr Ghufoor earned his primary medical qualification in 1990 at the Royal London Hospital School of Medicine, after which he gained a fellowship with the Royal College of Surgeons. He then undertook his basic and advanced training in Otolaryngology, during which, he gained expertise and knowledge in minimal access surgery at renowned North London hospitals.
Upon completion of his training, Mr Ghufoor was appointed Consultant in 2002 at St Bart’s and the Royal London Hospital. Since his appointment, Mr Ghufoor has since gone on to become a Lead Clinician of the Head and Neck Surgery Department at St Bart’s and an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Queen Mary Medical College. He is also an active member of the medical teaching community and has been appointed as a Clinical Tutor for the Royal College of Surgeons England, and also as an Ear Nose and Throat Training Programme Director for the North Thames in London Deanery.
