Mr Karuppaiah is a consultant and academic who works with Kings College Hospital in London. He completed his higher training in shoulder, elbow, hand, and wrist surgeries in 2014 and has since treated multiple injured patients and managed various orthopaedic conditions that affect the upper limb. He is an expert in evaluating and managing sports injuries, arthritis, nerve, and tendon problems. Mr Karuppaiah provides tertiary referral service for complex upper-limb injuries. He received his orthopaedic training at Kings College Hospital, London and Ganga Hospital, India.
Mr Karuppaiah obtained master's degrees in orthopaedics from Teesside University, UK and Madras Medical College, India. His research interest is in upper-limb research, and his research efforts have been recognised nationally and internationally. He has over 25 articles published in peer-reviewed, indexed journals, and his research work is cited by many authors, journals and orthopaedic textbooks. As an academic, Mr Karuppaiah frequently lectures at national and international conferences and training courses. He teaches modern orthopaedic techniques to trainees from SE Thames Orthopaedic rotation and undergraduate students at Guys, Kings, and St. Thomas Medical Schools.
Mr Karuppaiah is a faculty member in Kings FRCS intense revision course - Hand Surgery FRCS (Orth) revision course and Medway Upper-limb course. He is also a clinical and educational supervisor for foundation year and specialty training doctors. He belongs to the editorial board and reviews a variety of international scientific orthopaedic journals. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons.
