Mr Francesc Malagelada is a renowned Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon working at the UK's largest Trauma Centre, The Royal London Hospital. He speciallises in Foot and Ankle Surgery, treating common ailments including bunions, sports injuries, ligament damage, tendon issues, as well as the treatment of complex conditions requiring reconstruction surgery. He practices a patient-based approach offering surgical and non-surgical therapies that adapt to each person's lifestyle.
Mr Malagelada qualified from the University of Barcelona in 2005 and continued his Orthopaedics training at prestigious institutions such as The Royal London and Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital. To gain specialised Foot & Ankle expertise he completed one year at the Windsor Foot & Ankle Unit as a fellow. He was awarded the ESSKA-AFAS international fellowship by the European Society of Sports Traumatology, Knee Surgery and Arthroscopy. He holds multiple professional memberships including the British Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society, European Foot and Ankle Society, and General Medical Council.
In addition, Mr Malagelada is actively involved in research with over 55 peer-reviewed publications in scientific journals and contributions to multiple orthopaedic textbooks. He holds a PhD on minimally invasive surgery (MIS) of the foot and has researched extensively in the field of arthroscopy and MIS to pursue faster recovery. He has lectured and organised courses to teach these advanced techniques.
