Mr Arfan Malhi is a highly qualified and experienced orthopaedic surgeon with a sub-specialty interest in primary and revision hip and knee arthroplasty. He completed his basic surgical training on the Kings College Hospital rotation and undertook a research post at the Hammersmith Hospitals NHS Trust. He then went on to higher orthopaedic surgical training on the UCLH/Middlesex rotation.
Mr Malhi further honed his skills through a near year long fellowship at the University of Manitoba Joint Replacement Group in Canada, a high volume centre where over 1400 joint replacements are performed each year. He has a particular interest in arthroplasty in high body mass index (BMI) patients and has presented internationally on this topic in Europe and North America.
Mr Malhi has worked in a number of NHS Trusts, including University College Hospital London and Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust where he established a busy practice in hip and knee arthroplasty, with a sub-specialty interest in revision surgery, while also maintaining a trauma practice. He quickly took up leadership roles within the Trusts, including Trauma Lead, Arthroplasty Lead, and Clinical Lead for Trauma & Orthopaedics at University Hospital Lewisham.
In 2018, Mr Malhi moved to his current post at Guys and St Thomas' NHS Foundation trust. His extensive qualifications and experience make him a highly respected and sought-after orthopaedic surgeon in the field of joint replacement and revision surgery.
