Mr. Andrew Davies is a Consultant General and laparoscopic surgeon, specializing in Upper GI surgery. He performs a high volume of stomach and oesophageal surgery at one of the largest tertiary referral centers for oesophageal and gastric cancer in the UK. His specialist areas include hernia repair (including open and keyhole surgery techniques), gallstones (cholecystectomy), and acid reflux/gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD). He also assesses patients for oesophageal or gastric cancer, achalasia, and GISTs (Gastro-intestinal stromal tumors). In addition, Mr. Davies performs endoscopy and a wide range of general surgery procedures including skin lumps and bumps. He has a strong academic background with a first-class honors BSc, a Masters with distinction, and an MD in the staging and management of oesophageal cancer. He leads the Oesophago-gastric research group and is regularly invited to speak at national and international conferences.
