Mr. Medhat Zekry is a highly skilled consultant orthopaedic surgeon specializing in Hand and Wrist surgery, with expertise in a broad spectrum of procedures including joint replacement, arthroscopy, and fracture management. Currently practicing in London at The Holly Private Hospital, The London Independent Hospital, and London Bridge Hospital, Mr. Zekry is renowned for his proficiency in treating conditions such as trigger finger, Dupuytren’s disease, and sports injuries.

Having obtained his FRCS in orthopaedics and trauma from the Royal College of Surgeons in 2016, Mr. Zekry furthered his qualifications by earning his Diploma in Hand Surgery from the European Board of Hand Surgery in 2021. He is adept in utilizing Wide Awake Local Anaesthesia No Tourniquet (WALANT) techniques, offering patients surgery without the need for general or regional anaesthesia.

Following his training at Birmingham University Hospitals, Mr. Zekry pursued specialized fellowships in upper limb complex trauma and Hand surgery at King’s College London. With nearly a decade of experience at a Supra-regional major Trauma Centre in Dubai, he is well-versed in managing complex fractures and traumatic injuries. Additionally, he served as a Lecturer of orthopaedic surgery at Dubai Medical College.

In addition to his clinical practice, Mr. Zekry is actively involved in teaching Hand surgery, contributing to various training platforms for orthopaedic exam candidates. He notably edited the Hand and Wrist chapter in the Concise Orthopaedic Notes textbook for FRCS (Tr&Orth) aspirants. His research contributions have been extensively published in peer-reviewed journals, and he has presented at numerous national and international conferences.

Mr. Zekry plays a pivotal role in clinical governance and quality assurance, serving as the clinical governance lead for trauma and orthopaedics at Homerton University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. He previously held the position of Hand and Wrist consultant at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust before joining Homerton Hospital.
