Mr Jarnail Bal is a Consultant Neurosurgeon who works across HCA facilities, with his NHS practice based at Barts Health NHS Trust. He leads the cerebrovascular (neurovascular) surgery service at Barts Health and provides specialist care for a wide range of complex neurological conditions, including brain aneurysms, arterio-venous and cavernous malformations, brain tumours, skull base pathology involving both anterior and lateral approaches, acoustic neuromas, meningiomas, head injuries, and adult spinal disorders.
He completed his medical degree at the University of Manchester and undertook an intercalated BSc in Medical Physics at University College London, graduating with First Class Honours. His neurosurgical training was carried out in North London, followed by recognised fellowship posts in skull base surgery at Barts and Queen’s Hospital and advanced cerebrovascular training at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, one of the UK’s highest-volume centres for neurovascular surgery.
