Dr. Simon Aylwin serves as the lead consultant endocrinologist at King's College Hospital, where he heads the pituitary and adrenal multidisciplinary teams. He also runs a private practice at London Bridge Hospital. His key areas of expertise include pituitary and adrenal tumours, thyroid disorders, neuroendocrine tumours, and hyponatraemia. Additionally, Dr. Aylwin collaborates with bariatric surgeons to manage patients with severe obesity.
With over 70 peer-reviewed publications, Dr. Aylwin has contributed extensively to the fields of endocrine tumours, clinical obesity, appetite regulation, and molecular endocrinology. He is also a journal reviewer and serves on the editorial board of Pituitary.
After earning his medical degree from Cambridge University in 1987, Dr. Aylwin pursued further training at the Royal London Hospital. He became a member of the Royal College of Physicians and completed a PhD in 2001. Passionate about medical education, he frequently lectures in the UK and internationally in countries such as Spain, India, and Korea. He has also been actively involved in symposia and debates, including those held by the British Endocrine Society.

Simon Aylwin is a consultant endocrinologist at King’s College Hospital with broad clinical practice in endocrinology and special interests in pituitary tumours, thyroid disorders, adrenal tumours and cancer, neuroendocrine tumours, inherited endocrine tumour syndromes and hyponatraemia.
He also works as a physician alongside bariatric surgeons managing patients with severe obesity and has an academic interest in appetite regulation.
