Dr. Paul Holmes is a Consultant Neurologist and Honorary Senior Lecturer. He leads the general neurology service, seeing patients with common neurological presentations, including migraine, dizziness, vertigo, blackouts, and symptoms of tingling, numbness, and weakness. His primary focus is on acute liaison neurology, with particular interest in stroke, headache, intensive care neurology, and the neurology of HIV infection. Dr. Holmes trained at the University of Witswatersrand, Johannesburg, and completed his specialist training in neurology in the UK. He obtained an MD in TIA and stroke imaging and became FRCP in 2005. His areas of expertise include general neurology, stroke, TIA, and the neurology of HIV infection.
