Dr. Amit Gera is a Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist with a particular focus on liver diseases. He leads the viral hepatitis service and the upper gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary cancer service. Dr. Gera qualified with distinction from Guy's, King's, and St. Thomas' School of Medicine in 2000 and gained advanced training in viral hepatitis, hepatobiliary medicine, transplantation, and critical care at the Liver Unit at King's College. He was awarded an endoscopy fellowship by the British Society of Gastroenterology to train in advanced therapeutic endoscopy at The Medical University of South Carolina, USA. His expertise includes colonoscopy, endoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy, hepatobiliary, inflammatory bowel disease, bowel disease, dyspepsia, hepatitis, liver disease, viral hepatitis, irritable bowel syndrome, coeliac disease, and nutritional disorders.
