Dr Bhat Aparna has practised Dermatology for 23 years, since 2002, with training and experience spanning two continents. He treats both adults and children for a wide range of dermatological presentations in the NHS and private sectors.

Dr Aparna’s special interests are skin cancer and cutaneous allergy. His work includes mole checks, assessment of suspected skin cancers and management of common conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, acne, hair loss, nail disorders, hidradenitis suppurativa, and vulval dermatoses. He is competent in managing acute dermatology presentations like drug rashes and erythroderma and managing skin conditions across all skin types (Fitzpatrick skin types I–VI). Dr Aparna can provide comprehensive assessment and management for suspected skin allergies

He is an experienced Dermatosurgeon and has performed many procedures like excision of moles, skin cancers and benign skin lesions like seborrheic warts, skin tags, cryotherapy, and radio cautery. He also injects intralesional steroids for keloids and alopecia areata.

Dr Aparna serves as the Skin Cancer MDT Chair and has developed the teledermatology pathway to help reduce two-week-wait times. He has also led a cutaneous allergy service in his previous NHS post and regularly attends specialist meetings.

In addition, Dr Aparna has practised aesthetic dermatology at Kaya Skin Clinic in India and can offer advice on aesthetic procedures where appropriate. He is passionate about delivering evidence-based medicine and remain actively engaged in research and medical education.
