Dr Annika Charlesworth is a Consultant Gastroenterologist, appointed as a Consultant in 2017 at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust. During her tenure, she has significantly contributed to the development of gastroenterology services whilegaining extensive experience in managing a diverse range of complex cases.

Dr Charlesworth qualified in 2003 from the prestigious Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz, Germany, after studying medicine across Germany, France, and New Zealand. She relocated to the UK in 2004 to complete her postgraduate training in Gastroenterology and General Medicine. She further pursued a PhD, demonstrating her commitment to advancing medical knowledge and enhancing her expertise in the field.

Dr Charlesworth has a specialist interest in clinical nutrition and a broad range of gastroenterological subspecialties. She has also maintained a leadership role, serving as Clinical Director in Gastroenterology for three years, where she oversaw the strategic development and delivery of high-quality patient care.

Now embarking on an exciting new chapter at HCA London Bridge, Dr Charlesworth brings her expertise, leadership skills, and passion for improving patient outcomes to a multidisciplinary and world-class healthcare environment.
