Welcome to the Endoscopy Centre

The Wellington Hospital is home to one of the UK's largest private gastrointestinal (GI) centre, equipped to treat the whole range of GI and biliary conditions. At the heart of our GI centre is our JAG-accredited Endoscopy Centre, the first private unit to be awarded accreditation from the Joint Advisory Group (JAG).

GI Endoscopy JAG accreditation not only represents the quality of the service we offer but also the pioneering and complex work of our long established MDT meetings and multidisciplinary team providing the full range of upper and lower GI endoscopic tests and treatment.

World renowned consultants

Our Consultants have dedicated their lives to understanding conditions of the digestive system.  They treat patients from London and all over the world because in our centre, you’ll see a consultant who subspecialises in exactly what you need. They offer screening for bowel cancer or diagnosis and treatment for diseases that affect any part of the digestive system, which include the oesophagus, stomach, colon and rectum. Some of our consultants specialise in endoscopic examination of the small bowel and of the pancreatic and bile ducts.

If your case is complex, they’ll discuss your diagnosis and treatment plan with many other senior clinicians. It’s their combined skill and judgement that delivers the best outcomes for patients. Working in teams, they’re pioneering new procedures and bringing the latest techniques to our hospital, offering our patients more options.

JAG accredited Endoscopy Centre

In London's first private JAG accredited centre we are able to offer the full range of upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopic investigations and treatments. There are no waiting lists and you will normally have your report the same day.

Within our centre we have dedicated endoscopy nurses and colorectal clinical nurse specialists, who help each patient through their procedures in the endoscopy suite.

Every opinion is heard and nobody defers to any one person. Together they channel decades of experience, gained treating thousands of patients, into making the best decision for every individual.

Unique access to your consultant throughout

When you are a patient in our Endoscopy Centre you will have a dedicated consultant who will always follow you through your treatment with us. If you have any additional questions, you will be fully supported by our clinical nurse specialists.
