Paediatric acute neurological rehabilitation FAQ

Neurological conditions like developmental delays and neuropathies can have a significant impact on the practical skills your child needs every day.

Our occupational therapists work to provide personalised care and support to help your child live as independently as possible and to improve their quality of life.
Our paediatric physiotherapists are skilled at delivering tailored physiotherapy programmes for children with a range of neurological conditions such as neuropathy, brain injury or a developmental delay.

These will be expertly designed to help your child improve their strength, coordination and range of movement, and work on any issues with joints, muscles, sensation and balance.
Yes, it can be very effective, although it will depend on your child’s individual case.
Problems with speaking and communicating are the most common developmental delay that we see in the young patients in our care.

If your child is experiencing speech and language problems because of any medical or neurological condition, our experienced speech and language therapists will assess and treat these alongside any swallowing and feeding problems they may also have. They’ll design a holistic programme, tailored to the results of that assessment. to support your child’s specific needs.
Our experienced child’s neuropsychologists and neuropsychiatrists are here to help identify and understand any changes in thinking and behaviour that your child may have because of their neurological condition.

They can provide personalised care to help your child as well as all the caregivers in your family to better understand and manage any challenging behaviours. They can help with these now and support you long-term as these behaviours change and evolve.
