Professor Treibel is a highly qualified Consultant Cardiologist with expertise in Valvular Heart Disease, Heart Failure, and multimodality Imaging. He is a Professor of Cardiology at University College London and practices at Barts Health. He has sub-speciality training in advanced heart failure, valvular heart disease, and multimodality imaging, and is accredited in cardiovascular magnetic resonance, transthoracic and transoesophageal echocardiography.
Professor Treibel's aim is to improve outcomes for patients with heart disease, and his academic credentials demonstrate his commitment to this goal. He holds a PhD from University College London, has published over 200 peer-reviewed articles, and secured over £10 million in grant funding. He was awarded a British Heart Foundation Intermediate Clinical Fellowship and the British Cardiovascular Society Michael Davies Award for his dedicated research on aortic valve disease patient outcomes.
Professor Treibel is a skilled educator with experience teaching in various settings to diverse audiences, including lectures at national and international levels. He has strong leadership and management skills, demonstrated through his multiple leadership roles at trust, university, national, and international society levels.
Professor Treibel obtained his undergraduate training at St John's College, University of Cambridge, and Imperial College London. His clinical training took place across London, including Royal Brompton Hospital, Heart Hospital, and St Bartholomew Hospital.
