About

Mr Thomas White is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon with a specialist focus on hip and knee surgery. His private practice is based at HCA UK at The Shard and London Bridge Hospital, alongside an NHS role within Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust.

He qualified in medicine from Bristol Medical School in 2005 and completed his postgraduate orthopaedic training across several major London teaching hospitals. His subspecialist training includes two internationally recognised fellowships in complex hip and knee surgery. The first was undertaken at St George’s Hospital, where he trained as a pelvic and arthroplasty fellow within a tertiary referral centre for pelvic trauma and complex revision joint replacement. He subsequently completed the Allograft Fellowship in Perth, Australia, gaining additional experience in primary and revision hip and knee procedures at two of the busiest orthopaedic hospitals in the region.

Following his return to the UK in 2018, Mr White was appointed Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust. Within this role, he developed a high-volume hip and knee arthroplasty practice and currently serves as lead for revision hip and knee surgery. He regularly collaborates with surgeons across the regional network and manages complex cases at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, where he was appointed Honorary Consultant in 2020.

In addition to elective surgery, Mr White maintains an active trauma practice at University Hospital Lewisham, with particular expertise in the management of complex hip and knee fractures. His leadership roles within the Trust include appointment as Lead for Clinical Governance in 2018, followed by Lead for Trauma in 2020.
