Professor Janice Rymer is a senior academic gynaecologist and serves as Professor of Gynaecology and Dean of Undergraduate Medicine at King’s College London School of Medicine. Her clinical and academic work focuses on minimally invasive gynaecological surgery, particularly for endometriosis, alongside ovarian failure and medical education.
She has an extensive publishing record, having authored more than 130 peer-reviewed journal articles, written 13 textbooks as first author, and contributed to a further five books. Professor Rymer also holds long-standing national leadership roles, including serving on the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists Council between 1997 and 2005 and again from 2009 onwards, as well as membership of the British Menopause Society Council from 1986 to 1992 and from 2009 to the present.
Her professional interests span general gynaecology, laparoscopic and hysteroscopic procedures, menopause care, and the management of endometriosis, combining advanced surgical expertise with a strong commitment to education and training.
