Professor Helen Brough is a leading authority in pediatric allergy and clinical immunology, with a long-standing reputation for excellence in both research and clinical care. She served as Head of Service at the Children's Allergy Service at Evelina London Children’s Hospital, Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Hospital from 2015 to 2023, and continues to co-lead the joint asthma and allergy service, as well as the adolescent allergy service, at Evelina London.
Her clinical expertise includes eczema, food allergies including oral food immunotherapy, asthma, hay fever, sublingual inhalant immunotherapy, and eosinophilic gastrointestinal disorders. Professor Brough has co-authored landmark studies on food allergy prevention and is a lead investigator in the Pronuts and SEAL studies. She also played a key role in oral and patch peanut desensitization trials. She is on the expert steering committee of the prestigious Consortium of Food Allergy Research (CoFAR) Leadership programme from the National Institutes of Health, USA (2024-2031) and is the lead of the expert steering committee for an NIHR funded study on improving accessibility and feasibility of food allergy prevention in the UK (2024-2027).

In addition to her clinical work, Professor Brough has held leadership positions, including President of the Royal Society of Medicine’s Allergy and Immunology Section (2022-2024) and Chair of the Paediatric Section for the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (2019-2022). She also serves as the medical advisor for the Natasha Allergy Research Foundation. Her work has been recognized with numerous awards, including the 2020 Distinguished Clinician Award from the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology.
