Professor Hany Zayed is a Consultant Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon with extensive experience in the management of complex arterial and venous disease. He combines advanced surgical expertise with a strong academic background and an international reputation in vascular innovation.
Professor Zayed qualified from medical school in 1994, completing a Master’s degree in 1999 followed by a Doctorate of Medicine in 2004. In 2008, he was appointed Consultant Surgeon at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, one of the UK’s leading tertiary vascular centres. He later served as Clinical Lead for Vascular Services between 2016 and 2018, overseeing service development and clinical excellence across the department.
His clinical practice focuses on endovascular and open revascularisation for complex arterial disease, with particular expertise in lower limb ischaemia, diabetic vascular disease, and aortic pathology. Professor Zayed is highly experienced in keyhole endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR), as well as endovenous treatments for varicose veins, offering minimally invasive solutions where appropriate.
Alongside his clinical work, Professor Zayed is an active researcher with a substantial portfolio of peer-reviewed publications. He is regularly invited to speak at national and international vascular conferences, reflecting his leadership and contribution to the advancement of modern vascular surgery.
