Professor Carr-White is a consultant cardiologist who also trained in general medicine, and is on the specialist register for both cardiology and general internal medicine. His clinical areas of expertise are general cardiology, preventative cardiology, heart failure and inherited cardiac diseases and valvular heart disease. Professor Carr-White sees his private patients at The Cardiac Clinic located at London Bridge Hospital, part of HCA Healthcare UK where patients can benefit from a one-stop shop approach with cardiac tests performed by our consultants alongside clinic appointments.
He was the clinical lead for heart failure and inherited cardiac diseases at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospitals for 14 years. He is now a deputy medical director of the cardiovascular, respiratory and critical care units, merging services across Guy’s and St Thomas’, the Royal Brompton and Harefield hospitals. He currently sits on the 2 main national leadership groups for cardiology, the national clinical leads group and the cardiology clinical reference group, helping develop regional and national guidelines and service specifications for NHS England.
Professor Carr-White is currently the vice president for Cardiomyopathy UK and is secretary of the British Inherited Cardiovascular Diseases Society. He is the network clinical lead for King’s Health Partners and the clinical director of the NHS England South London Cardiac Network, coordinating patient pathways across a population of 8 million people.
Alongside his clinical work, Professor Carr-White is a Professor at King's College London, and lectures both nationally and internationally. He has published over 150 peer-reviewed articles in medical journals, in the fields of heart failure, inherited cardiac diseases, AI, cardiac imaging and valve disease, and has been granted over 7 million pounds in research grant income. Professor Carr-White takes a holistic approach to patient care and is a strong believer in proactive prevention for cardiovascular conditions.
