About
Professor Francesco Rubino is a renowned consultant general surgeon who specializes in laparoscopic bariatric, metabolic, and upper digestive surgery. He is currently the Chair of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery at King's College Hospital in London, and he also sees private patients at King's College Hospital's Guthrie Clinic and London Bridge Hospital.
Professor Rubino completed his medical degree and residency training at The Gemelli University Hospital in Italy before pursuing fellowships in laparoscopic surgery at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York, Cleveland Clinic in Ohio, and the European Institute of Telesurgery in France.
Before joining King's College Hospital, Professor Rubino served as the Director of the Diabetes Surgery Centre and as Chief of Gastrointestinal Metabolic Surgery at the New York Presbyterian Hospital and the Weill Cornell Medical College in New York.
Professor Rubino is internationally recognized for his research, teaching, and practice of bariatric surgery, metabolic surgery, and diabetes. He has published over 100 papers in renowned scientific journals and regularly presents his work at national and international meetings.
In addition to his clinical and research work, Professor Rubino has organized and co-directed conferences, including the Diabetes Surgery Summit, which is an internationally recognized conference endorsed by 47 societies.
