About
Professor Albert Ferro studied Medicine at King's College London (1978-1984), obtaining a 1st Class Honours intercalated BSc degree in Biochemistry in 1981. After qualifying and following training as a junior doctor in medicine, he pursued a PhD in Clinical Pharmacology at Cambridge University. Since then, his research and clinical interests have focused on the prevention and treatment of heart disease. He has been a Consultant Physician since 1996 and was appointed Professor in 2009. Professor Ferro is a former Vice-President (2005-2007) of the British Pharmacological Society (Clinical Section) and served as Chair of the London Hypertension Society (2005-2009), where he remains a committee member. He is also a member of various professional societies and serves on the Editorial Boards of several medical and cardiovascular scientific journals. Professor Ferro provides a General (Internal) Medicine service and runs a Hypertension clinic, specializing in blood pressure management and cardiovascular risk management.
