Mr Waters qualified from University College London Medical School in 1995. He underwent specialist training at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore, Specialist Registrar rotation. He subsequently spent a year in Australia on the prestigious Sydney Hip & Knee Surgeons international fellowship.
Mr Waterss specialist interests are hip and knee surgery; including knee and hip replacement, partial knee replacement, arthroscopy (keyhole surgery), ligament reconstruction, osteotomy (knee re-alignment), hip resurfacing and revision (redo) joint replacements.
He is responsible for the training of junior surgeons, as well as a lead orthopaedic surgeon for clinical governance, surgical site infection surveillance and enhanced recovery programme. He was awarded two clinical excellence awards in 2010.
Mr Waters is involved in research looking into the lifespan of hip and knee replacements and the design of new implants. He continues to publish and present research at international meetings.
