Mr Henry Atkinson is an award winning specialist in trauma and orthopaedic surgery, with particular interest in managing sports injuries and proficiency in dealing with problems of the hip, knee and ankle. He is currently based at North Middlesex University Hospital as a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon, where his commitment to service awarded him a NHS Clinical Excellence Award in May 2012.
In 1998, Mr Atkinson graduated with a medical degree from the University of Edinburgh. In 2008, he was accredited as a Bone and Joint (Trauma and Orthopaedic) Surgeon thanks to further qualifications and extensive training. His training included prestigious fellowships worldwide, including one in Adelaide, Australia, Serbia and Canada, through which he gained a wealth of experience in all types of lower limb surgery. Committed to advancing the field and sharing his expertise, Mr Atkinson provides guidance and advice on the design and execution of many research projects in the field of trauma and orthopaedics, and also lectures in Belgrade, Serbia.
Outside of work, Mr Atkinson thoroughly enjoys spending time with his wife and their young family based in North London. He is a highly acclaimed surgeon, who is often praised by patients for the energy and enthusiasm he brings to his practise.
