Mr Daoud Makki is a leading Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with HCA Healthcare at 31 Old Broad Street. He also holds an NHS post at West Hertfordshire Trust, where he holds the position as Lead for the Enhanced Recovery Programme. He has a wide range of experience covering all areas of orthopaedic surgery, with specialist expertise in sports medicine and shoulder and elbow surgery. He is skilled in performing diagnostic arthroscopies, open shoulder and elbow surgery, shoulder stabilisation, rotator cuff repair and upper limb trauma repair.

He qualified with a Medical Degree from the Lebanese University Medical School in 2001, and completed his basic surgical training in the East of England Deanery. He was impressively awarded a Gold Medal in his graduation thesis for his MD studies. Following this, he furthered his speciality through training at the Wrightington Upper Limb Unit, and completing a Fellowship in shoulder surgery in Manchester. Additionally, he holds a Science Degree in Biology and a Diploma in Sports and Exercise Medicine. He remains involved in research and has been heavily published throughout his career, including a chapter on shoulder arthroplasty in a medical textbook. He has made a name for himself on an international level, having presented his research across the world.
