After completion of his undergraduate studies at The University of Cambridge, Mr Alastair MacKenzie Ross undertook his initial medical and surgical training in East Anglia, Swansea and London. During that time, he also spent 2 years doing research into aspects of senescence in melanocytes and melanoma for which he was conferred the Doctor of Medicine degree. Subsequently he undertook his specialist training in plastic surgery in the London Deanery, when he also completed fellowships in hand surgery in Singapore, Cosmetic Reconstructive Surgery in London and was a Poche Fellow in Melanoma and Surgical Oncology at the Melanoma Institute Australia (formerly the Sydney Melanoma Unit).
In 2013, he was appointed as a Consultant Plastic Surgeon with a special interest in Skin Oncology. He is a member of the skin cancer multi-disciplinary teams at Guy’s and St Thomas’, King’s College and Queen Elizabeth (Woolwich) Hospitals and was the surgical lead for the London Cancer Alliance Skin Pathway Group. He is also a founding member of the multi-disciplinary skin cancer team at the Wellington Hospital.
