Dr Mo Shah is a consultant interventional cardiologist with expertise in complex coronary intervention and preventative cardiology. He completed his intercalated medical degree at the University of Manchester, where he graduated with national academic prizes. Following academic and general medical training in Manchester, he moved to London for specialist cardiology training. He was awarded a British Heart Foundation–funded PhD at UCL, working with international teams in Norway and South Africa to explore the immune mechanisms underlying heart attacks.
After completing his PhD, Mo returned to full-time NHS practice, undertaking advanced interventional training in London. He now works as a consultant interventional cardiologist across Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust, East Kent University Hospitals, and St Thomas’ Hospital, London. He has published widely in areas including lipid metabolism, coronary intervention, and cellular immunology.
