About

Miss Maleeha Mughal is a distinguished Consultant Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon at Guy's & St. Thomas Hospital. Her expertise is rooted in her specialisation in Breast cancer reconstruction, Head and Neck cancer reconstruction, and lymphedema surgery.

Her professional journey led her through comprehensive plastic surgery training across two esteemed rotations: one in Leeds and the other in the Panthames rotation in London. Following her foundational plastic surgery training, she honed her skills in Canada, focusing on intricate microvascular reconstruction. During this phase, she contributed her expertise to prestigious institutions including Toronto General Hospital, Mount Sinai Hospital, and Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. Her dedication to cancer treatment led her to pursue training in supermicrosurgery procedures for cancer-related lymphedema management. Further enriching her skills, she completed a microsurgical fellowship at Guy's & St. Thomas Hospital, encompassing intricate soft tissue reconstruction of the chest wall, abdomen, and perineum. Her comprehensive training culminated in the esteemed London Clinic Aesthetic Surgery Fellowship.

Miss Mughal's practice encapsulates breast reconstruction, head and neck cancer reconstruction, and an array of body contouring procedures such as abdominoplasty, brachioplasty, breast uplift, augmentation, reduction, and thigh lifts. Additionally, she provides both surgical and non-surgical facial rejuvenation procedures.

In her career, Miss Mughal has been deeply involved in clinical research, with a portfolio of over 40 articles published in peer-reviewed journals. She has also contributed as an author to several book chapters, including in the prestigious Oxford Textbook of Plastic Surgery. Her passion for teaching is evident through her role as the Royal College of Surgeons Surgical Tutor for the trust, along with her participation as a faculty member in various surgical skills courses and the FRCS specialty exam course
