Ms June Tay

Ms Li June Tay (June Tay) is a consultant urologist specialising in prostate cancer, uro-oncology and benign conditions of the kidney, prostate and bladder. She is a subspecialist in robotic and minimally invasive urological surgery.

Ms Tay won a full scholarship to study medicine at King's College London and qualified in 2009. She completed her surgical and urology specialist training in UK, including at Guy's and St Thomas' and King's College Hospital. She then undertook subspecialist training through a Royal College of Surgeons of England robotic fellowship at Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge, and at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Australia. Ms Tay is Urology Cancer Lead and Audit Lead at East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust. She has been selected as a Clinical Champion by Prostate Cancer UK and is actively involved in audit and quality improvement to ensure consistently high standards of care and patient experience. She has presented her work at international conferences, has published in peer-reviewed journals and has received numerous prizes. She is frequently invited to chair and speak at national conferences and webinars. Her clinical interests include local anaesthetic prostate biopsy and minimally invasive procedures for benign prostate conditions. She also assesses and treats a wide range of urological problems, including kidney stone disease, blood in the urine, and urinary conditions in men and women, providing contemporary, evidence-based care. She places a strong emphasis on patient-centred care and works closely with patients and their families to develop management plans tailored to each individual.

Ms Tay is committed to training the next generation of doctors and surgeons. She teaches King's College London medical students and is faculty on British Association of Urological Surgeons (BAUS) and national robotic courses. She also sits on the interview panels for Kent and Medway Medical School and for National Urology Specialty Training Recruitment.

She is a member of BAUS, the European Association of Urology (EAU) and the Royal Society of Medicine (RSM).

Outside medicine, Ms Tay is a mother of two and a keen triathlete. She regularly cycles to raise funds for charity, most recently from London to Amsterdam in support of The Urology Foundation, which funds urology research, education and training.
