Dr Nicholas Gall is a Consultant Cardiologist at King’s College Hospital with specialist expertise in cardiac rhythm disorders and neurocardiology. His clinical practice focuses on the assessment and management of fast and slow heart rhythms, investigation of blackouts and unexplained collapse, and prevention of sudden cardiac death. He regularly undertakes invasive cardiac procedures including pacemaker implantation, electrical cardioversion, and insertion of implantable loop recorders.
He qualified in medicine from Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals Medical School in 1993 and began cardiology training in 1996, before being appointed Consultant Cardiologist in 2004. Dr Gall also runs the Neurocardiology Service at King’s College Hospital.
Dr Gall has particular expertise in disorders of autonomic cardiovascular regulation, including postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (PoTS), inappropriate sinus tachycardia, and orthostatic intolerance. His clinical interests also encompass inherited cardiac conditions, palpitations, dizziness, faints, chronic fatigue, chest pain, breathlessness, postural hypotension, autonomic failure, and unexplained loss of consciousness.
He maintains an active research profile, with a specific focus on PoTS, and has published extensively in cardiology literature. Dr Gall regularly presents at national and international meetings and leads specialist educational programmes including the PoTS Masterclass and the London Syncope Meeting. He is a Patron of PoTS-UK and serves as a medical adviser to STARS.
Dr Gall holds the qualifications MB BS (University of London, 1993), BSc (Hons) (1990), MRCP (1996, now FRCP), MSc in Cardiology (University of Sussex, 1998), MD (University of London, 2004), and IBHRE certification in cardiac pacing (Heart Rhythm Society, 2003).
