Dr. Michael Cooklin is a Consultant Cardiologist who was appointed in 2001. He commenced his specialist training in Newcastle upon Tyne and continued his training in the United States at the Universities of Virginia and Maryland. Dr. Cooklin qualified in medicine from the University of Manchester in 1985 and has developed a research and clinical interest in clinical electrophysiology, specifically cardiac arrhythmias. He earned his MD in basic cellular electrophysiology and specializes in the treatment of cardiac arrhythmias, including ablation, arrhythmia drug treatment, pacemakers, ICDs, and cardiac resynchronisation therapy.
