Dr Teresa Guerrero Urbano is a Consultant Clinical Oncologist and clinical lead for Radiotherapy, with expertise in head and neck cancer, non-melanomatous skin cancer, and prostate cancer. She has held senior positions at various hospitals and universities, including Royal Surrey County, Basingstoke, and North Hampshire Foundation, and was a Senior Research Fellow at University College London. She completed her oncology training at the Royal Marsden, Royal Surrey County, and Guy's and St Thomas' Hospitals, and earned her PhD from the University of London in 2008. Dr. Guerrero Urbano is joint Module Leader for the Respiratory, Head and Neck module, MSc in Oncology at the Institute of Cancer Research. She offers weekly Oncology Seminars and monthly lectures at the University of Surrey. Her research focuses on the technical and biological aspects of intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) and the use of novel radiation techniques to minimize long-term side effects. She has published her research widely and spoken at conferences worldwide. Her areas of expertise include head and neck cancer, technical and biological aspects of image-guided radiotherapy (IGRT), intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT), and cancer imaging applied to radiotherapy treatments.
