Dr Malcolm Persey is a Consultant Rheumatologist with extensive experience, having taken up the role of consultant in 2001. Dr Persey's NHS base is the at Barnet Hospital and Chase Farm Hospital, part of the Royal Free NHS Foundation Trust. His private practice is based at BMI Kings Oak & Cavell Hospitals in Enfield, Spire Bushey Outpatients & Diagnostic Centre, The Wellington Diagnostic and Outpatient Centres in Elstree and Golders Green, as well as The Royal Free Private Patients Unit at Hadley Wood Hospital.
In 1988, Dr Persey graduated from the University of Oxford and the Royal Free Hospital, after which he undertook general medicine and rheumatology training at St Mary’s Hospital, Central Middlesex Hospital, Northwick Park Hospital, Hammersmith Hospital and Stoke Mandeville Hospital.
With multiple specialist interests in the field, Dr Persey diagnoses and treats a vast array of rheumatology conditions. His particular interests lie in general rheumatology, gout, osteoporosis, vasculitis and arthritis/rheumatic diseases in pregnancy. He is able to provide clear interpretation of a number of appropriate investigations, where appropriate, including blood tests, bone density scans, X-rays, MRI scans and nerve conduction studies. In addition, he is highly experienced in providing non-surgical treatment for patients with a range of rheumatological problems, including carpal tunnel syndrome, tennis elbow, neck and shoulder pain and other soft tissue and joint injections.
