Dr Kapil Chawla is a private general practitioner with more than 12 years of experience providing medical care in Northwest London. His practice covers a broad scope of primary care, with an emphasis on prevention, early diagnosis and the long-term management of physical and mental health conditions.
He has completed postgraduate GP training across multiple healthcare systems, holding qualifications from the UK, Australia and India. His medical training includes Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners, Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, and a postgraduate degree in Internal Medicine. Alongside conventional general practice training, Dr Chawla has undertaken four years of structured education in lifestyle medicine and whole-person care for chronic disease prevention and management. He is an Institute for Functional Medicine Certified Practitioner, a qualification held by a limited number of clinicians worldwide.
Dr Chawla’s clinical work extends beyond routine GP consultations and includes the assessment and management of complex and long-term conditions. His approach focuses on understanding contributing factors to illness and supporting patients through evidence-based medical care alongside lifestyle and nutritional interventions where appropriate. His areas of clinical interest include chronic disease management, metabolic health, autoimmune conditions, functional gastrointestinal disorders and mental health.
He provides care across a wide range of general practice services, including adult medicine, women’s health with a focus on menopause and hormone replacement therapy, paediatrics, care of older adults, health screening and preventive health assessments. Additional areas of practice include chronic disease prevention and management, type 2 diabetes prevention and reversal, acute medical presentations and functional gastroenterology, including SIBO-related conditions.
Alongside his clinical work, Dr Chawla maintains an interest in community and charitable involvement, supporting initiatives related to human welfare, animal wellbeing and environmental sustainability. He lives with his family and balances clinical practice with ongoing professional development.
