Dr Hartmut Kristeleit is a highly experienced Medical Oncologist specialising in the treatment of early-stage and advanced breast cancer. He completed his medical degree at the Universities of Bonn, Germany, in 1977, before undertaking extensive postgraduate and clinical training in Lausanne, Switzerland, and at Barts and The London School of Medicine.
He went on to complete a Clinical Research Fellowship at AVON, where his work focused on investigating novel therapeutic targets in familial breast cancer at the Breakthrough Breast Cancer Research Centre. This early research laid the foundation for his long-standing involvement in translational and clinical oncology research.
In 2009, Dr Kristeleit was appointed Consultant Medical Oncologist and Clinical Director for Oncology, where he has led specialist breast cancer clinics and contributed to the development of high-quality, patient-centred oncology services.
Dr Kristeleit is actively involved in academic teaching and regularly lectures at the University of London. He also presents at national and international conferences, sharing clinical and research insights with the wider oncology community. Alongside his clinical practice, he remains deeply engaged in research and has served as principal and chief investigator on numerous breast cancer clinical trials, with particular expertise in antibody drug conjugates and immunotherapy.
