Dr Courtney Kipps is a consultant in sport and exercise medicine with a clinical focus on orthopaedics and trauma. He also holds an academic appointment as Principal Clinical Teaching Fellow at University College London and the Institute of Sport, Exercise and Health.
He completed his medical degree at the University of Nottingham before undertaking postgraduate study in sport and exercise medicine, gaining a Master’s degree at the Royal London. His specialist training was further developed through an international Churchill Fellowship, during which he studied sport and exercise medicine at both Harvard University and Stanford University in the United States.
Dr Kipps combines clinical practice with leadership roles in elite sport. He serves as club doctor to Harlequins Rugby Club in the Aviva Premiership and holds senior medical positions as Medical Director of the London Triathlon and Assistant Medical Director of the London Marathon.
His clinical work includes the assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries, sports-related trauma and concussion, alongside the provision of joint injection therapies. He works with both athletes and non-athletes, supporting recovery from injury and return to activity through evidence-based musculoskeletal care.
