Dr Chinedu Nwokoro is a Consultant in Paediatric Respiratory Medicine at The Royal London Children's Hospital, Barts Health NHS Trust. He is Clinical Lead for asthma, wheezing disease and chronic lung disease of prematurity and an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at The Blizard Institute, Queen Mary University of London. Dr Nwokoro qualified from Cambridge University medical school and trained at Great Ormond Street, St Mary’s, The Royal London and Cambridge. He obtained his doctoral thesis from Barts and the London School of Medicine.
Dr Nwokoro is an experienced general paediatrician with specific expertise in diseases of the respiratory tract. He is head of children’s asthma and chronic lung disease at Barts Health NHS Trust and leads the NEL ICS community asthma improvement programme.
Dr Nwokoro has a keen interest in research and has published extensively on his area of expertise. He is also actively involved in education and teaches undergraduate medical students and supervises BSc programmes. He has taught in Sudan on behalf of the RCPCH and the Egyptian and Sudanese Medical Associations. He is a joint course director of the ‘Lung in Childhood’ London Paediatric Respiratory Medicine training programme.
