Mr Asif Parkar is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon with specialist expertise in sports-related knee injuries, ligament reconstruction, and both partial and total joint replacement of the knee and hip. His practice also includes the management of patellar instability and joint-preserving procedures such as corrective osteotomy around the knee. He adopts an evidence-based, whole-person approach to care and sees patients at Harley Street Hospital.
He completed his higher surgical training on the Royal London Trauma and Orthopaedic Programme before undertaking advanced fellowships at several leading centres, including Barts Health NHS Trust and Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust in London. He also completed a Level I Trauma Centre fellowship in Calgary, North America, gaining extensive experience in complex orthopaedic trauma and sports injuries.
Drawing on this broad training, Mr Parkar offers advanced treatment options for conditions such as patellar instability and sports knee injuries, incorporating modern techniques including knee osteotomy and robotic-assisted joint replacement where appropriate.
Alongside his clinical work, Mr Parkar has contributed to orthopaedic literature through multiple book chapters and publications in peer-reviewed journals. His academic and innovative contributions have been recognised with awards for best fellowship research and the NHS Innovation Prize.
