Dr. Alex Kumar, an accomplished Consultant in Anaesthesia and Pain Management, currently attends to private patients at London Bridge Hospital, King Edward VII's Hospital Sister Agnes, Lister Hospital, and Pure Sports Medicine Kensington. Additionally, he holds an Honorary Consultant position at King’s College Hospital and Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.
Dr. Kumar earned his medical degree from Bart’s and The London in 2007, following a Bachelor's degree in Sports Medicine from Queen Mary, University of London in 2006. He underwent specialized training in anaesthetics and pain management both in the UK and internationally. Dr. Kumar furthered his expertise with fellowships in acute pain at St Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver and chronic pain at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London. He achieved Fellowship status with the Royal College of Anaesthetists in 2015 and became an Associate Fellow of the Faculty of Pain Medicine, Royal College of Anaesthetists in 2021.
His dedication lies in leveraging pain medicine to support rehabilitation, improve function, and enhance the quality of life for his patients. Dr. Kumar adopts a holistic and multidisciplinary approach, tailoring interventions, medications, and pain therapies in collaboration with each patient. His specialized areas include pain medicine, spine medicine, postoperative pain, rehabilitation, acute pain, chronic pain, complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), neuropathic pain, and sports and exercise medicine.
Beyond his role in pain management, Dr. Kumar possesses expertise in general and regional anaesthesia for maxillofacial, major general, and orthopaedic surgery.
