FAQs

Yes, we can. Our expert team of dietitians is skilled at managing both common and highly complex nutritional issues. We work across specialties to devise the most effective personalised approach for your specific condition. You’ll be supported at every stage with specialist, evidence-based dietary advice and individual treatment plans, precisely tailored to your needs.

Your dietician will assess your symptoms, nutritional needs and lifestyle. The advice they offer may include putting you on the FODMAP diet, supporting you with meal planning or an elimination diet to help you pinpoint any allergies you have.
All our digestive health patients have access to state-of-the-art intensive care units at every HCA UK hospital. We also offer integrated high dependency units (HDU) and ward-level critical care outreach teams. It’s a gold standard approach that means we’re ready, skilled and able to deliver the enhanced care and support you need for any complex or additional problems.
Absolutely. Our teams offer vital care and support before and after surgery. Whether it’s expert advice about successfully managing your stoma, detailed guidance on helpful dietary adjustments or ongoing emotional support, we’re here to help.
Yes, we provide targeted interventions for patients with a wide range of digestive health challenges. Our services include specialised physiotherapy and biofeedback therapy for patients with pelvic floor dysfunction, support for patients recovering from abdominal surgeries and physiotherapy for chronic GI conditions such as IBS.
Stress can significantly impact your gut function, contributing to symptoms such as bloating and irregular bowel movements. Our team can offer relaxation techniques and referrals as well as psychological support, if you need it.
Not necessarily. If you’re funding your own treatment, you’re welcome to self-refer to the team for any help you may need. However, if your treatment is covered by private medical insurance, your provider may need to see a referral before agreeing to cover it. It’s best to contact your insurer in advance to check you’re covered for any treatment.
All our support services are available at every stage of your care, whether that’s treatment through lifestyle changes, preparing for surgery or post-operative care. We’ll make sure you have all the support you need.
Many insurance providers do cover dietetic and support services, as long as you’ve been referred to us by a consultant. We always recommend checking with your insurance provider and getting a written confirmation before starting care with us.
Yes. Convenient virtual appointments are available for dietician consultations and any follow-up sessions you may need, helping you to keep getting personalised advice and care from the comfort of your own home.

I couldn’t fault the care I received, both in ITU and on the ward. I was nervous initially about moving to the ward, as my care in ITU appeared quite complex. I still had a lot of tubes fitted, but in fact I had nothing to worry about. The transition of care was fantastic - I felt very well looked after.
